Job Description

Milacron is looking for a Machinist to join our team in Norcross, GA. As a Machinist you will be responsible for the set-up and operation on a variety of machinery to produce a large assortment of parts or finishes often of a complex nature. Must apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics and machining procedures.

The worksite location is Norcross, GA.

Work You'll Do:

  • Verify correct product using job traveler.

  • Set-up and operate a variety of machinery (CNC, Grinder, Lathe, Mill and Saw) to blueprint specifications.

  • Monitor machine performance and perform preventative maintenance to assure continuity of production.

  • Monitor and ensure all fluid levels are maintained on all equipment.

  • Monitor inventory levels and report low levels and discrepancies to supervisor.

  • Must use precision measuring tools specific to job.

  • Must use job specific hand tools.

  • Read part drawing with sectional views.

  • Lift, position, and transport work piece with a hoist.

  • Must accurately record labor hours into ERP system.

  • Work independently; assist and train less experienced machinists.

  • Maintain plant standards in areas of safety, quality, delivery, cost, 5S, housekeeping, teamwork, and attendance.

  • Recommend improvements for area product and processes.

  • Interact professionally when interacting with customers and employees.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED along with Technical School Certificate is preferred.

  • 1 plus years' of experience/training in machining related industry is required.

  • Math Skills - basic math skills required, advanced preferred; general computer skills; knowledge and understanding of various measuring devices.

  • Problem Solving - identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; works well in group problem solving situations.

  • Written communication - must be able to complete required paperwork and provide information needed by subsequent shift workers, coworkers, and supervisors.

  • Reading - read and understand written instructions, blueprints, job travelers, measuring tools, Etc.
