Occasionally, you will be required to work Overtime on Saturdays and Sundays

The Facilities Renovations Department seeks (1) a Cabinet Maker to join the already awesome team, taking the Building Maintenance Department to the next level of excellence!

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • The ideal candidate will be able to perform the following duties while assisting In addition to supporting the department Cabinet Maker, Senior will also:
  • Fabricates the installs of countertops, shelving, trim, and molding
  • Demonstrates journeyman expertise in all cabinetry-related work
  • Builds and repairs all types of furniture, including cabinets, tables, shelves, desks, bookcases, bulletin boards, chairs, and other wooden equipment
  • Lays out material, machinery, and assembly
  • Repairs and cleans furniture for refurnishing, including the fabrication of new parts and finishing the removal.
  • Builds and repairs windows
  • Operates various types of machinery such as mortises, sharpers, ripsaws, joiners, planners, bandsaws, and related equipment
  • Read plans, blueprints, and shop sketches and accurately determine work to be performed and resources required
  • Completes and submits all required project documentation for processing as required
  • Maintains required records and logs.
  • Use and maintain tools, materials, and equipment in a secure, safe, clean, and orderly manner.
  • Performs other related assigned duties.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED and five years of related experience; or a technical or a vocational degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a post-secondary vocational/technical school program directly related to the cabinetry trade; cabinet, countertop, shelf, and trim work fabrication (interior and exterior finishes) or one year of experience performing cabinetry work
  • Knowledge of equipment and tools used in fabricating and repairing furniture and cabinets
  • Skills and ability to properly use tools to repair and fabricate furniture
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures within the area of assignment
  • Knowledge of computer applications related to the area of assignment
