Summary:
Accurus Aerospace Athens, LLC employs Manufacturing Engineers who are required to design and develop engineering data to be used by production and quality team members. Manufacturing Engineers are also required to interpret and report engineering data to internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
  • Liaison with Accurus shop supervisors, programmers, engineers, and program coordinators and assist with special projects as required
  • Liaison with customer buyers and engineers and assist with special projects as required
  • Liaison with CNC machine tool vendors and assist with special projects as required
  • Develop & assist with creation of manufacturing support documentation such as In-Process Inspection plans (QI), First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR), Masking Templates (MT), internal procedures or standard work instructions, Dimensional Inspection Reports (DIR), and Supplier Deviation Requests (SDR).
  • Create 3D models from 2D customer engineering data
  • Design and develop 3D models for internal fixtures, drill jigs, packaging crates, etc.
  • Evaluate and determine machine tool capabilities for production of specific products to meet customer requirements
  • Determine required foundation and facilities needs for new equipment. (Hoisting equipment and necessary power, air and foundation work)
  • Activities or special projects as required by the Director of Technical Services or designee
General Knowledge and Skills:
  • Manufacturing Engineers are expected to have the following general skills;

    • Have the ability to accurately interpret engineering data
    • Strong shop environment and safety awareness skills
    • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
    • Willingness and ability to work within a team environment
    • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
    • Computer skills including Microsoft Suite, Outlook, CAD
  • Preferred Qualifications / Experience
    • Mechanical Engineering degree
    • At least 3 years in related experience
    • CAD skills are highly desirable
    • Ability to interpret blue prints, GD&T, and CAD models
    • Familiar with aerospace materials and specifications
    • Familiar with aerospace machining practices and specifications
    • Familiar with aerospace quality requirements and specifications
    • Familiar with ERP/MRP management systems
