The role

The PDP Analyst is a member of the R&D Project Management Office team that supports the design and development of innovative medical devices. The Product Development Process (PDP) Analyst supports the product development process (PDP) critical to accelerating growth for Avanos. This cross-functional role, reporting to the PDP Champion, primarily includes supporting R&D Program Managers or Project Leaders in the execution of their projects, facilitating Intensive Planning Sessions, and driving continuous improvement within the PDP processes and tools.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Actively support program managers/project leaders with project management activities through all phases of the Product Development Process from ideation through commercialization.
  • Plan, coordinate, and facilitate Intensive Planning Sessions and complete schedule creation, schedule optimization, and schedule report out/hand off.
  • Own and manage project schedule(s), including regular schedule maintenance via updates from the cross-functional teams and escalation of impact to critical path.
  • Provide technical support/research as applicable to the project/program.
  • Assist in resolving issues identified by Project Leaders, Project Managers, and Functional Groups.
  • Provide regular updates and project report outs.
  • Supports the PDP Champion to identify, implement, and execute opportunities to improve product development processes and tools
  • Providing consistent and ongoing training for the PDP and PDP tools throughout the organization.

Your qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong people and process management skills
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills
  • Ability to travel up to 25% at times, potentially some international

Preferences:

  • Strong Microsoft Project experience
  • Proven Product Development and/or Project Management Experience
  • Previous experience in Cross-Functional roles
  • Previous experience in R&D or related technical development teams
  • Medical Device Experience a very strong plus
