We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Trade Finance Solutions Structurer to join our Treasury Services' Trade and Portfolio Management team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA or New York, NY (Hybrid - In office)

This is a critical senior role tasked with the development and execution of high-impact strategies to better position Trade Finance across key customer segments. The individual will be working with corporate and banking coverage and relationship teams and their respective clients and prospects and will be responsible for structuring, negotiating and executing and distributing trade finance transactions, working closely with clients to understand their working capital and trade finance objectives, identify opportunities and recommend appropriate structures. While the structuring focus of the business is on Distribution transactions, the structurer will also be responsible for Core Trade Products (Letters of Credit, SBLCs), Trade Loans and Supply Chain Finance (Receivables & Payables Finance) as well as exporter marketing involving our global network.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Be the senior trade structurer on a portfolio of key customers and prospects, expected to grow the trade wallet and revenue in that portfolio
  • Work closely with the sales and relationship management teams to recommend structures for solutions to enhance our clients' working capital and trade finance needs
  • Support and participate in pitching, structuring and execution of a transaction as well as prepare and review data analysis
  • Assist with product management and strategy related tasks including product build-out across the Treasury Services
  • Assist with all aspects of deal execution, including previewing with internal partners, preparing credit analysis and approval materials, conducting approval discussions, and negotiating legal documentation
  • Monitor and understand customer needs, regulatory environment, market, macro-economic trends as well as business opportunities
  • Adopt and leverage new marketing strategies such as partnerships, conferences, advisory boards
  • Partner closely with credit, finance, product, legal, operations and risk functional colleagues to ensure solution delivery is seamless and structures can be adapted to meet bespoke customer needs
  • Coordinate internally to drive timely and flawless execution of client mandates
  • Embed quality in client touchpoints including proposals and presentations
  • Appropriately assess risk/reward of transactions when making business decisions; and ensure that all team members understand the need to do the same, demonstrating proper consideration for the firm's reputation, its clients and assets

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
  • 10-12 years of total work experience preferred.
  • Structuring and transaction experience, with a strong working knowledge of distribution, FI credit, commercial L/C, cross-border and legal risk
  • Command a high degree of credibility with the client management and sales teams, as well as credit and legal risk teams
  • Formulation and implementation of business strategy across all customer segments
  • Ability to thrive in a growing, fast-paced environment while juggling multiple workstreams

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $100,000 and $200,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
