About the role:

CLA is seeking to hire a Director Regulatory Research at our Atlanta, GA office. If you are enthusiastic, team player and detailed oriented, apply today!

As a Director Regulatory Research, you will be responsible for:

  • Role oversees the preparation and filing or revisions to regulatory compliance documents
  • Serve as a leader in an advisory role to the Telecom team.
  • Participate in the design, implementation and evaluation of tax strategy, tax reporting, and regulatory reporting requirements for firm clients.
  • Maintain strong client interaction and communication on client projects.
  • Acts as mentor and point of escalation for Associate and Senior team members.
  • Develop a responsible and trained staff through assistance in recruiting, planning assignments, resolving problems, providing direct consultation to staff, evaluating staff performance, and acting as an instructor or discussion leader in professional development programs.
  • Direct preparation of and review all tax returns and ensure timely filing in all relevant jurisdictions.
  • Monitor tax developments. Evaluate software and other tools to ensure compliance with regulations is both efficient and cost effective.
  • Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for ongoing compliance and provide guidance/training to personnel.
  • Complete thorough reviews of filings/reports prepared by team members.

What you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required
  • 8 + years of professional experience required with 5+ years of relevant telecom experience highly preferred.
  • CPA required (JD or CMI may be accepted in lieu of CPA certification)
