POSITION SUMMARY:

The Sr. Procurement Specialist is responsible for insuring the cost-effective efficient supply of components, consumables, and services to all of MiMedx meeting all engineering/quality requirements. The person performing in this position will provide strategic thinking, cross functional leadership and collaboration, materials planning, customer service and procurement sciences.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Purchase products and services for all departments at MiMedx including operations, R & D, Sales, marketing, quality, etc.
  • Provide customer service to each person requiring collaboration, products and services as a customer.
  • Assist department with research of business marketplace for purchased products, services, MiMedx customers and competitors to maintain strategic leadership of procurement strategy and execution.
  • Proactively anticipate change and manage continuity of supply.
  • Apply procurement science knowledge to assess performance and rank suppliers for strategic understanding of improvement plans.
  • Work with Management assisting with development suppliers and service providers as strategic partners growing relationships for mutually beneficial value creation.
  • Provide expertise to develop procedures and policies as required for the organization ensure compliance and clarity of standard work.
  • Provide contract expertise in partnership with legal and strategic procurement to develop operationally clear agreements with win-win terms.
  • Manage inventory through reporting and data management insuring transparency of status and accuracy. Employ lean purchasing and factory tools increasing inventory velocity.
  • Strategically plan purchases of components, consumables, and services.
  • Develop and periodically update make vs buy analysis with total cost of ownership.
  • Understands / works with team to effectively escalate or delegate while maintaining ownership.
  • Provide leadership as needed sharing information and expertise freely.
  • Organizes business review of suppliers internally and with suppliers as part of supply chain strategic development.

PROBLEM SOLVING: Strong analytic, negotiation, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced skills in collecting data, measurement, perform in-depth data analysis, understand and draw conclusions.
  • Clearly identifies cause, 3 or more potential solutions, assessment of risk and informed recommendation to team and management.

DECISION MAKING/SCOPE OF AUTHORITY:

  • Independently performs assignments standardizing the routine to train staff or automate processes
  • Works within teams and department to coordinate non-standard decisions.
  • Develops approach to solutions collaborating team and management in decision making.
  • May manage elements/portions of a budget/project.

SPAN OF CONTROL/COMPLEXITY:

  • Seasoned professional contributor with responsibility for an advanced area of work.
  • May be responsible for entire projects or portions of projects having considerable scope/impact to department results.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Procurement specialist in supply chain, strategic sourcing and in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated acumen in financial, procurement, engineering in highly regulated industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or Equivalent
  • 8+ years of experience with increasing responsibilities in procurement & Operations planning.
  • Strong experience building relationships.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) designation preferred.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

  • Demonstrated cross-functional team work experience, including the ability to track and report project status from start to finish, as well as the ability to gain trust and confidence of internal and external personnel
  • Persuasive communication skills (oral and written), with an ability to communicate across different departments
  • Ability to drive collaborative projects with suppliers to deliver value, efficiencies and/or improvements in safety and quality
  • Strong analytic, negotiation, and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrate established proficiency utilizing evolving technological tools to streamline daily tasks and communications
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work is typically performed in an office and manufacturing environments. Remote work no greater than 40%.
