Position: Quality Tech I
Location: Conyers, GA
Pay: $21.70 + $1.50 Shift Differential Pay
Shift: 2nd shift 3:00PM-11:30PM.

This position reports directly to Quality Manager and will be responsible for the safe, efficient performance, coordinating the quality function and process improvement needs within the plant.

What you will be doing:

  • Conduct required in-line & off-line AQL inspection/testing for products. During the Incoming, In-Process and Finished Goods parts.
  • Ensure all customer feedbacks are completed on-time, root cause is identified and implemented.
  • Assist in analyzing all customer feedback for trends and continuous improvement.
  • Involved in corrective action and preventive action process (CAR's).
  • Assist in process Qualification studies as deemed necessary.
  • Assist and/or train plant personnel in GIQ quality system (SOP's, WI's & FORMS).
  • Assist in maintaining process for document control. (Electronically & physically)
  • Document COA's, COC's as required.
  • Defines quality concepts and quality processes, including statistical basics, etc.; applies quality tools; interprets information and data; applies team concepts.
  • Must be able to control nonconforming material.
  • Assist in managing supplier issues (SCAR's)
  • Ensure processes needed for quality management system are established, implemented, and maintained.
  • Active involvement in quality activities including regional staff and review meetings.
  • Participate in teams and lead efforts toward continuous improvement initiatives within the plant.
  • Coordinate activities to maintain plant Calibration program UpToDate.
  • Support in preparation for customer and laboratory samples.
  • Other essential duties as assigned.

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • Have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent as well as 3-5 years of work experience within the Quality field.
  • Individual must be a self-starter with a working knowledge of quality systems and audit standards.
  • Must have good verbal and written skills, be computer literate, and possess proven time management and organizational skills along with problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Individual must be results oriented, organized, and attentive to details.
  • Must possess strong customer service skills with the ability to motivate work force.
  • Flexibility/ability to adapt to change and apply knowledge to a competitive business environment is a must.
  • Experience using Microsoft Programs - Excel, Word, Power Point, etc...
  • Experience using measure devices - Caliper, Tape measure, Micrometer, high gauge, etc...
