  • Manage the daily activities of the assigned Quality Assurance inspectors by maintaining a general knowledge of all maintenance work being performed and by directly monitoring the Maintenance Control department. Ensure that Quality Assurance processes are in place to monitor the currency and accuracy of the aircraft airworthiness status of each Company aircraft.
  • Ensure that Flight Operations is continually and accurately updated regarding the status of each fleet aircraft.
  • Determine and ensure that all aircraft inspections and maintenance performed are properly documented and recorded in a timely manner in accordance with FlightWorks and FAA policies.
  • Organize and direct the Quality Department to assure the airworthiness and reliability of all Company fleet aircraft.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all calibrated tooling is in compliance and is tracked in computerized maintenance systems.
  • Assure all Company aircraft are in conformity with company policy, company maintenance publications, Instructions for Continued Airworthiness, manufacturer's maintenance, Continuing Airworthiness Maintenance Program (as applicable) and inspection publications, Operations Specifications, and Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Ensure aircraft records and necessary data are maintained in accordance with FAA regulations and Company policy.
  • Assure that all delegated inspection personnel are responsible to the Quality Assurance Manager in the execution of their inspection duties.
  • PRINCIPLE DUTIES
  • Through direct supervision, surveillance, and/or auditing of FlightWorks maintenance providers, monitor compliance with the FlightWorks manual system, maintenance program, and FARs.
  • In coordination with the Director of Maintenance, or delegate, assess the capabilities and qualifications of personnel, whether they are a FlightWorks employee or maintenance providers intended to be used by FlightWorks, before authorizing the use of these candidates.
  • Maintain a current and complete Approved Vendor List.
  • Develop and provide initial and/or recurrent General Maintenance Manual training, as required, to maintenance technicians employed by FlightWorks and outside maintenance providers to a degree that assures their understanding and working knowledge of FlightWorks policies and procedures. While ensuring all training is documented and training is current in the training records for FAA review. This training can be conducted by the QAM or his delegate.
  • Establish and administer the Technical Library system that ensures maintenance technical manuals and Company generated manuals required by FARs are current and available for performing maintenance or inspections on Company aircraft.
  • Administer the FlightWorks Continuous Analysis and Surveillance System (CASS) as defined in the FlightWorks manual system. Implement corrective measures as required that will enhance the overall maintenance program.
  • Review and provide oversight and implementation of inspection criteria, Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, ICAs, and that life limited components are being properly tracked and in compliance through third party maintenance tracking programs that are used by FlightWorks.
  • Perform routine and on-site audits at FlightWorks aircraft bases. Maintain corrective actions resulting from audits for Vendor, Contract Maintenance and FlightWorks Facilities to ensure suitability, compliance, and knowledge of the FlightWorks GMM requirements. Maintain an ongoing file of completed audits and corrective action requests resulting from audits.
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of the FlightWorks manual system and maintenance programs.
  • Initiate appropriate amendments to ensure compliance with corporate directives, regulatory requirements, internal or external audit requirements, current industry or manufacturer recommendations that would improve efficiency, safety, quality, or airworthiness.
  • Maintain and review permanent records of work accomplished on FlightWorks aircraft and ensure that the records are properly maintained and retrievable.
  • Ensure that all major repairs and alterations are accomplished in accordance with approved data and ensure completion and submission of the FlightWorks-issued FAA Form 337 to the FAA as required.
  • Assist the Director of Maintenance in evaluating any aircraft that are intended to be added to FlightWorks Operations Specifications to ensure type certificate and regulatory conformity. Ensure tracking and compliance of applicable Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, etc.
  • Ensure all maintenance performed on FlightWorks aircraft is accomplished in accordance with applicable FAR's, FlightWorks General Maintenance Manual, Operations Specifications, and aircraft manufacturer's maintenance manual and Continuing Airworthiness Maintenance Program (as applicable) prior to returning aircraft back to service.
  • Maintain various subscriptions regarding AFM's, OEM applications, maintenance manuals, etc.
  • Coordinate all Quality Assurance matters with the President relating to regulatory issues, CASS system functions and meetings, and Inspection program execution.
Qualifications
  • Five years of QA experience in a Part 135 operation.
  • A&P license required.
  • IA strongly preferred.
  • Previous auditing experience preferred.
  • The Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) will develop, implement, and execute policies and procedures that: help ensure dispatch reliability, promote client/customer satisfaction through quality maintenance provided at reasonable prices, build a dedicated and cohesive maintenance team, and ensure the timely flow of accurate maintenance related information throughout the company.
  • TheQAM will maintain a high level of communication, coordination, and dynamic interchange in support of the FlightWorks and FAA relationship.
  • TheQAM has direct oversight of theMaintenance Controldepartment and is responsible for ensuring that the highest levels of quality, safety and professionalism are always observed.
  • Ensure that FlightWorks fleet aircraft meets or exceed FAA, company, and industry standards for regulatory compliance, airworthiness, safety, presentation, and reliability
  • Select, develop, motivate, appraise, and review key Maintenance Control staff subordinates to ensure the continued quality and dependability of their work.
  • InsureMaintenance Controlstaff has the depth and flexibility to react to short-notice assignments and company needs.
  • Perform monthly, weekly, and daily maintenance planning in an orderly, timely, and efficient manner so as to ensure maximum safety, efficient utilization of personnel, minimum disruption of aircraft schedules, and maximum aircraft availability.
  • Ensure all manufacturer specific technical publications are appropriately updated and revised.
  • Audit outside / contract maintenance providers and suppliers to ensure they are properly trained, qualified, and capable of performing work that meets or exceeds FlightWorks, FAA, and industry standards.
  • The QAM will be held accountable for safety, security, and quality standards.
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • This person will need to have strong attention to detail, be well organized and able to prioritize workload efficiently.
  • Experience with Airworthiness Directives, Service Bulletins, CAMP, CASS, FAR's, GOM and Ops Specs.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to travel, work weekends, overtime, and any shift as required.
  • Must perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines.
  • Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties.
  • Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines.
  • Experience with Microsoft products, especially Outlook, Word, and Excel spreadsheets.
