Overview

This position manages the Community Association Banking ("CAB") loan portfolio in compliance with Bank Policy as well as all related Federal, State and Industry laws and regulations pertaining to Banking. Responsible for ensuring approved loans are structured according to credit approvals, that borrowers maintain compliance with loan covenants, compose load modifications as needed as well as work with credit to monitor on-going credit quality. Responsible for the the sound structuring of new and existing CAB loans, loan modifications, and other agreements.


Responsibilities

  • Research - Maintains a strong knowledge of banking services, as well as knowledge of the CAB industry and markets served. Conducts and documents fundamental and relative value research. Utilizes results to deliver specific, insightful, and timely credit research opinions. Builds relationships with external sources to support research efforts.
  • Portfolio Management - Reviews and monitors the credit quality of both existing and new CAB loan opportunities. Works with credit analysts to ensure proper underwriting and may perform underwriting functions as needed. Reviews and approves CAB loan draw requests and assigns new loans to CAB Loan Assistants. Works with Regional Account Executives (RAEs), Sales Assistants, Analysts, the Underwriting Manager and Loan Assistants to coordinate the due diligence process including the review of reserve study reports, third-party prepared financial statements, third party vendor contracts, special assessment reconciliation reports and property site inspections.
  • Loan Structuring and Documentation - Holds "pre-construction" conference calls for loans over a pre-determined amount with new borrowers and their PMC's before each loan closing to review the anticipated funding process. Assists in the reviewing of legal agreements and works with outside council and other internal business partners to ensure that legal documents are prepared correctly.
  • Business Support - Identifies and pursues opportunities to grow CAB Lending relationships with other bank groups including Treasury Management, Private Banking and Wealth Management. Seeks and acts on referrals from client companies and makes referrals to other business groups such as Private Banking, Wealth Management, Treasury Management and Retail, when possible. Collaborates with internal business partners to ensure compliance with CAB Lending policies and practices and regulatory statutes at the relationship level.
  • Reporting - Monitors and tracks the financial conditions of client borrowers and prepares and presents status reports to senior management on a regular basis. This includes the regular reassessment of risk ratings, and the documentation of changes in credit risk ratings when appropriate. Completes and reports on monthly SAG analysis for all watch list/adversely graded credits. Monitors/updates monthly DQ and Construction Funding Reports.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of banking experience OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of banking experience

Preferred Qualifications: HOA Industry experience
