What does a great Senior Director of Network Engineering do?

The Director of Engineering at Travelport is responsible for leading and managing the engineering department. This individual will develop strategies, set goals, and ensure projects are completed in alignment with business objectives. This role will collaborate with other departments to meet the organization's overall business objectives. Travelport is a fast-paced and ever-changing technology provider for the travel industry.

Responsibilities include:

Strategic planning - Identify the long-term strategy for the organization and roadmap associated milestones to achieve organization objectives.

Leadership - Capability to analyze the organization, bring people together to drive the business forward.

Design and Support - Manage design of cloud infrastructure, data center and remote location route network environments.

Regulatory compliance - Ensure network architecture meets compliance requirements for PCI/ISO/SOX.

Vendor management - Manage diverse set of vendors to achieve strategic objectives as well as cost reduction goals.

Who we are looking for in this role:

Knowledge - Key technical knowledge requirements: Cloud virtual connectivity, Cisco NXOS and ACI , Arista/Cloud Vision, BGP, SD-WAN, MPLS, Software Defined Networking principles, Load balancing and general security principles.

Experience- Proven ability to work with partners to drive forward operations and special initiatives. Experience deploying network configuration across multiple data centers, and virtual cloud technologies.

Uptime - Ability to thrive in a high-availability environment. Ensure that maintenance activities have vendor engagement, have been documented, tested, and thoroughly vetted for highest uptime. Travelport is a global 24x7 environment.

Professionalism - Ability to identify areas of improvement and build associated business plans to reduce downtime and or costs within the environment.

Salary Target: $170,000-$200,000
The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training.
