Job Description
We are looking for a PCB librarian to become part of a growing global organization with a focus on execution, technology, and culture. You will be instrumental in managing an existing PADS library and play a key role in our transition to Mentor Xpedition. This role will have a direct impact on engineering development, time to market and global layout efficiency. This role is located in Austin, TX and is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Responsibilities
  • Create schematic symbols and footprints for components with Mentor Xpedition as well as Mentor PADS on a limited basis
  • Manage existing part creation processes with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Interface with IC design and packaging teams during new product development
  • Interface with manufacturing and PCB design team to implement DFM feedback
  • Research and implement datasheet specs to create IPC compliant library components
  • Involved in all aspects of part development, maintenance, and support of CAD library at all levels
Required skills and qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a CAD librarian / PCB layout engineer
  • Proficient with footprint and symbol creation in EDA toolset
  • Skilled in researching and reading manufacturing data sheets to extract pertinent information for symbols and footprints
  • Familiar with high pin count, fine pitch parts including CSP's, QFN, BGAs
  • Has demonstrated the ability to create parts with a high level of accuracy, precision, and with great attention to detail
  • Must be able to manage new component request queue and prioritize workload
  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent communication and organizational skillset
Preferred skills and qualifications
  • 2-year technical degree or better
  • 3+ years of library management in Mentor Graphics Xpedition
  • Experience working in Semiconductor industry
