At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Facilities Technician to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
- Ensure Safety First is executed at workplace and always promote safety.
- Troubleshoot and repair different types of manufacturing equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance activities in manufacturing / utilities equipment.
- Assure all equipment and infrastructure, and any other elements impacting a safe work environment are always in
top operational conditions.
- Maintenance, repair, and upgrading of the existing facility and equipment.
- Support internal customers by responding to repair calls and resolving problems using appropriate equipment and
procedures.
- Perform general facilities work and repair tasks such as painting, carpentry, drywall, etc.
- Complete installations and repairs that may involve such skills as electrical, mechanical, HVAC and plumbing.
- Use assorted tools and equipment to construct, renovate and maintain facilities.
- Instruct others in the use of various types of office and maintenance equipment and tools.
- Comply with safety, building, security and environmental codes and regulations
- Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g., vocational school/Associate).
- General knowledge and use of basic hand tools.
- Excellent communication skills - oral and written.
- Proficient in the use of computers and equipment which utilizes computer software technology. Must be able to use computer systems to enter and modify data.
- A valid US driver license is required.
- Must be a US person.
- Electrical journeyman certification preferred.
- Seven (7) years of related work experience in Facilities and/or in Industrial workplace or a combination of education, certification, and Facilities and/or industrial related work experience (e.g., vocational school, related certification and 2 years related work experience).
- Strong experience in mechanical and electrical systems maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs
- Willingness to work occasional overtime and /or float shifts temporarily to support site needs.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and wear proper PPE.
- Lift and transport objects up to 35 pounds; consistently stand, stoop, crawl, bend, crouch, climb, and kneel.
- Work onsite in Bridgeport, WV.
