About your role:
Asa Residential Skills Trainer (RST), you will work with adults with severe and persistent mental illness in a residential setting, helping them to learn/increase skills needed to live in the community. The goal is to help them to enhance their recovery/wellness and to increase their self-sufficiency and independence. You will meet with clients daily to provide life skills training, which will include: maintaining a residence, food purchasing, meal preparation, housekeeping, hygiene, budgeting, safety, medication management, and public transportation. This role also transports clients locally to medical appointments, grocery trips, etc. using a company vehicle. RSTs will provide personal support and crisis intervention as needed. While supervising and providing these supports to residents, you will monitor their behaviors, needs, progress, and client administered medication. You will document services rendered and their progress toward meeting their goals. You will work as part of a team in the residential setting and attend monthly staff meetings and supervision with the Residential Program supervisor for professional development.
