Job Summary

The Order Management Specialist is tasked with managing and executing sales orders from both customers and consumers. The role demands meticulous coordination across various platforms, including SAP, EWM, Magento, EDI, custom-built systems, and manual processes, with a particular focus on maintaining precise SAP QTC data accuracy. On a daily basis, the specialist is dedicated to ensuring exceptional satisfaction among customers and stakeholders throughout the sales order management journey.

Char-Broil is located in Columbus. This position is a hybrid job if within a 50-mile radius of the office or remote.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Process and execute sales orders received from various channels such as retail, direct-to-consumer, eCommerce, and wholesale efficiently and accurately.
* Utilize multiple platforms including SAP, EWM, Magento, EDI, and custom-built systems, along with manual processes, to manage and coordinate order processing activities.
* Ensure the precision of SAP QTC (Quote-to-Cash) data, verifying that all order details are correct and up to date to facilitate smooth order fulfillment.
* Address customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide updates in a timely manner to maintain high levels of satisfaction throughout the sales order process through invoicing.
* Execute Advanced Available to Promise tools to access material availability and fill orders.
* Work closely with inventory, logistics/Traffic, finance, and planning departments to ensure orders are processed, fulfilled, and delivered on time.
* Generate reports on order processing metrics, analyze performance data, and identify trends to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the order management system.
* Proactively identify and solve problems related to order processing, including payment discrepancies, inventory issues, and shipping delays.
* Adhere to company policies, legal standards, and quality assurance guidelines in all order management activities.
* Continually assess and refine order management processes and practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
* Maintain effective communication with all stakeholders, including customers, team members, and external partners, to ensure transparency and alignment throughout the order fulfillment process.
* Provide guidance and support to other team members, especially regarding the use of order management systems and handling complex issues.
* Keep abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in order management to drive innovation and improvement within the company.
* Other duties as deemed necessary.

Qualification Requirements

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or a related field


Minimum Work Experience: Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience of order management/order entry experience supporting mid to large size customers, preferably within a consumer products company.


License(s) / Certification(s): None

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Strong understanding of Order Lifecycle and Order Management principles
* Comprehensive EDI knowledge in consumer products industry
* Knowledge of shipment routing
* High degree of proficiency using PC & database analytical tools
* Organizational skills and the ability to maintain information in a logical and well-thought-out manner.
* Comprehensive understanding of Order Lifecycle and Order Management principles
* Strong sense of urgency
* Ability to effectively develop professional and positive relationships with internal and external customer contacts.
* Ability to identify risk and opportunities through analysis.
* Ability to be detail oriented.
* Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.
* Ability to work in a constant state of alertness
