Georgia-Pacific is looking for career-minded individuals to join our Cellulose production team as a Utility Worker in Brunswick, GA. This position is an exciting entry-level opportunity with room for advancement.

Compensation: Starting pay for this role is $20.48/hr. This role also offers opportunities for overtime and employees are eligible for quarterly bonuses.

Shift: This position works rotating 12-hour shift schedule, that includes weekends, holidays, and overtime.

The Georgia-Pacific Brunswick mill, which has been in operation since 1937, has the capability to produce over 800,000 tons of cellulose each year. What You Will Do

  • Perform quality checks and keeping designated work area clean throughout the shift
  • Operate all lab equipment needed for 2 labs, document results in the computer systems, cover shift vacancies and support machine trials
  • Perform repetitive and physically demanding tasks for at least 12 or more hours per day(lifting, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, stooping)
  • Work in a fast-paced, industrial environment that is hot, cold, humid, and noisy and may include working around dust, oil grease, chemicals and other substances
  • Assist crew members and working in a team environment to meet and exceed safety, production, and quality goals
  • Strive 100% of the time to fully comply and ensure excellence with all areas of Georgia-Pacific compliance, environmental, safety, policies, procedures and principles
  • Operate equipment to defined standards and product specification targets
  • Identify and perform value-creating work; and assist with troubleshooting minor machine malfunctions, making machine adjustments, and equipment change overs, this may include, working in high and/or confined spaces.
  • Embrace change, share knowledge with others, create customer value, treat others with respect and dignity. While demonstrating a sense of urgency, discipline, accountability, judgment, initiative, and critical thinking skills necessary to create the greatest contribution to the company while producing results that create value to realize your full potential and find fulfillment in your work
  • Work rotating shifts (24 hours a day 7 days a week), long hours, weekends, including Sundays, overtime, and holidays when needed


Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience using computers, laptop, tablet or smart phone for record-keeping and documentation functions
  • Experience in Quality Control within an industrial manufacturing environment


What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience within a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse/shipping, construction or dock working environment
  • Material Testing Experience
