Your Job

The Dixie Board Quality Leader is responsible for building in board quality by using technology, standard work, continuous improvements with testing/inspections and transformation solutions. Your goal is to optimize profitable quality performance and meeting desired customer experience for our commercial brand and operating partners across the Georgia-Pacific Dixie value stream. This leader will leverage their operating, quality, technical skills, process, and product knowledge to drive optimization of VOP inputs to achieve VOC quality output, leveraging statistical data through profitable variability reduction, drive continuous improvement, support perpetual transformation, OEE increase and waste reduction. Collaboration & partnership of peers, vested stakeholders, subject matter experts, operating resources, etc. to continual build optimized capabilities through the board mill products to maximize value creation for Dixie Products.


This can be a remote role with travel to support Dixie board and extrusion mills as well as pressware and cup manufacturing facilities.

The Dixie Quality Team is responsible for leading and influencing quality at our Dixie sites to meet production expectations, drive quality improvements, support perpetual transformation, profitable variation reduction, and develop quality talent using project management and statistical tools. The group's combined talents complement each other to optimize and ensure operational, brand & commercialization support that enables virtuous cycles of mutual benefit with partners, manufacturing and commercial.


What You Will Do

  • Build and improve the board and extrusion mill quality management system and culture in Naheola and Brewton by partnering with Dixie printing and converting.
  • Identify key partnerships for collaboration and execution to sustain improvement gains through the Dixie value stream
  • Lead a team of Technical Service Managers that support ongoing trial and DOE work, claim resolution, cost reduction projects, evaluation of board sources both internally and externally, and waste elimination efforts in support of Dixie for the board and extrusion mills
  • Drive tactical work to uncover and implement leading VOP (voice of the process) indicators to help the board mills improve troubleshooting responses and continual improvement
  • Drive results from quality trials and DOE projects and transform and improve our understanding of key factors/variables that will enable us to unlock break-through quality improvements and delivery
  • Enable the performance of products to be integrated into operational discipline, by using process improvement tools that identify waste losses, uncover root cause and lead operations to effective corrective action which prevents reoccurrence
  • Coordinate and facilitate structured root cause analysis for technical issues by improving throughput while improving OEE for both board machines and Dixie printing and converting
  • Lead efforts for board mill specification reviews and standardization based on outcome from trial work, process improvements and Dixie printing/converting

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Experience driving leadership and culture change by influencing key stakeholders across an organization through facilitation and timely delivery of project management results and value creation
  • Experience executing quality processes, innovation and machine/technology solutions including change management, CAPA/RCA, and that drives profitable variability reduction
  • Experience working with Statistical Process Controls, data analytics and variability reduction
  • Experience supporting transformation projects and executing initiatives
  • Experience with asset and maintenance strategies, equipment care, reliability, and process material flow
  • Able to travel up to 40-60% per needs of the business
  • Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, Biology or a Science field
  • Experience working with or through supply chain, marketing, and/or portfolio management processes in a business leadership role
  • Experience working in a quality management system for paper products
  • Leadership and direct management experience of people, teams, prioritizing work assignments, developing of talents & skills
  • Proven impact to create value in an engineering, material flow, discipline operations, OEE, Waste
  • Knowledge of maintenance systems, reliability engineering, asset management, equipment care
  • Six-Sigma certification (Green Belt or Black Belt)


For this role, we anticipate paying $120k - $155k per year. This role is eligible for variable pay, issued as a monetary bonus or in another form.
