Georgia-Pacific is now hiring Electrical Technician to join our Lumber facility in Rome, GA! This position creates value by performing preventative maintenance, PLC's, troubleshooting electrical systems and equipment within the mill to keep the facility operating at its highest capacity. Our Lumber mill in Rome, GA manufactures dimensional lumber of superior quality to meet the demanding needs of builders.

Salary:

* Our minimum starting pay is $26/hr or more based on experience.

* You will have the ability to increase your compensation based on skills and contribution to the overall performance of the mill.

Shift:

* Only candidates who are flexible and available to work rotating shifts will be considered. This will include overtime, holidays, nights, and weekends as needed.

* 12 hours rotating shift.

* The week of orientation will be 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and you will be assigned your regular shift after your orientation.

What You Will Do

* Troubleshoot electrical problems with plant equipment. (DC Controls, AC Controls, & Up to 480volts)

* Perform routine and preventive maintenance on plant electrical equipment.

* Use PLC to troubleshoot & maintain production equipment. Able to Access, Understand, & Troubleshoot.

* Install and inspect new equipment and machinery.

* Work in a team environment with minimal supervision.

* Use deductive reasoning to diagnose and repair electrical manufacturing equipment & PLC.

* Assist Production and other Maintenance technicians as needed.

* Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures including performing proper lockout/tag out procedures.

* Ability to wear the necessary Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) (i.e., hard hats, safety glasses, face shield, ear plugs, hearing protection, steel-toe boots or safety shoes and other PPE required by specific jobs).

* Knowledge of OSHA and National Electrical Safety.

* Knowledge & Ability to access PLC Logic to use as troubleshooting tool.

* Knowledge of Allen Bradley Control Logics PLC's & Allen Bradley AC Drives.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

* Experience with single and 3-phase electrical repair and troubleshooting up to 480 Volts, Industrial Controls, Motor Controls, Drives, and Electrical Distribution.

* Experience accurately troubleshooting electrical controls, PLC's, A/C and D/C motors, motor controllers and drives.

* Experience with industrial instrumentation for flow, pressure, and temperature.

* Experience reading and following electrical and mechanical schematics /blueprints.

What Will Put You Ahead

* Associate degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Systems, Instrumentation, or Electronic Technology AND at least two (2) years of electrical/electronic and/or instrument & control troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing environment OR four (4) years equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment

* Experience in repairing, troubleshooting, and PLC's, and Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and experience with Distributed Control (DC).

* Mechanical maintenance experience, including fluid handling and conveyor systems, hydraulic systems and accumulators, and valve identification and application and welding.

* Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS)
