We are seeking a seasoned proposal/marketing expert to support our Global Sustainable Infrastructure (SI) team and share your expertise with our proposal writers/managers. What you will do

In this role, you will support the SI Sales Enablement Team Director with our mission to exceed the expectations of our internal sales and engineering teams by creating, writing, managing, designing, and delivering customer focused proposals, presentations, or related documents. As the proposal team manager, you will guide and mentor the proposal team members, and ensure that all proposals, presentations, and related documents are compelling and succinctly articulate how we meet our client's specific needs and requirements as well as the bring market leading strategies to life. To accomplish this, you will work with cross-functional teams that may include operation managers, solutions development engineers, cost estimators, technical subject matter experts, marketing, and executive leadership. You will ensure project timelines are met for proposals, presentations and related documents and the development process for each opportunity is followed to maximize win rates and complete top-notch deliverables. We are looking for a leader who is innovative, leveraging the latest tools, and driving towards maximizing the team's effectiveness.

How you will do it

  • Manage the proposal team and develop, track, analyze and drive team metrics with an eye toward team excellence.

  • Conduct and lead team meetings, develop goals, and participate with other leadership strategies activities and responsibilities.

  • Identify use cases and AI tools to drive efficiency on the team and better share information and collateral across the organization.

  • Create content and manage proposals with subject matter experts to support our sustainability, decarbonization, and resiliency products and services business.

  • Work across geographies to support global teams and share best practices.

  • Proactively seek data and information to ensure market strategies and customer values and differentiators are focal points in proposals, presentations, and related client documents.

  • Communicate frequently with multi-disciplinary teams to keep current on the pipeline for opportunities, vertical market updates, and service offerings.

  • Team with marketing, communications. and sales representatives to accurately convey the strategy messages and themes to customers and internal Johnson Controls resources.

  • Assign proposal workload and lead the proposal team through standardization of proposal development processes and content.

  • Participate in the team's quality control review process to ensure quality product development.

  • Develop and write compelling, cohesive, concise, creative, and original responses to RFPs, RFIs and other opportunities-related documents through information gathered from Interviews with subject matter experts and other Johnson Controls resources.

  • Contribute content for offering descriptions, proposal boilerplate, case studies, etc. in our Content Management System.

  • Design and produce computer-generated graphics, charts, tables, multi-media graphics, and text material for visual presentation or import into proposal document.

  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

What we look for

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, business, or a related field. MBA, or other appropriate graduate degree preferable.

  • Minimum of ten years' experience as a senior proposal leader with minimum of five years supervising people.

  • Must possess solid writing and business graphic design expertise.

  • Possesses intermediate to advanced working knowledge of common computer applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Adobe Suites - InDesign, etc.).

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex proposals against tight deadlines, with a "can do attitude."

  • Ability to handle multiple projects, interface effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, and deliver superior deliverables.

  • Strong process orientation and development skills with the ability to motivate subordinates.

  • Effective planning and organization skills.

  • Team management experience or demonstrated ability to step into this role.
