Located in the heart of Atlanta at one of the America's most innovative and diverse research universities, the Georgia State University School of Public Health educates practitioners and thought leaders while engaging in research and outreach that addresses urgent health challenges and promotes health equity. The Georgia State SPH offers a range of CEPH-accredited degree programs, from a bachelor's degree in public health to an MPH in six concentrations, a PhD in four concentrations and a DrPH program for professionals in the field. Our research and community engagement have been funded with $17.8 million in external funding over the past year alone, with areas of emphasis that include applied biostatistics and epidemiologic methodology; cancer, chronic disease epidemiology, and social determinants; infectious diseases; and tobacco, alcohol and other substance use, among others.

Position Description
The Department of Population Health Sciences in the School of Public Health at Georgia State University is seeking outstanding applicants for two non-tenure track teaching-focused Clinical Assistant Professor positions in Epidemiology. Teaching assignments will depend on the expertise and interests of the candidates as well as departmental priorities. The ideal candidates will hold a doctorate in Epidemiology or a related field. Strong methodological background is preferred. Expertise is welcome in focused areas including social epidemiology, causal inference, infectious disease, maternal and child health, or surveillance. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, and candidates must display a willingness and ability to contribute to the University and profession through service activities.

The selected candidates will be joining an exceptional core faculty in the area of Epidemiology housed in the multi-disciplinary Department of Population Health Sciences within the School of Public Health at Georgia State University. Georgia State University is a leading urban research institution located in Atlanta, Georgia. Its unique and contemporary School of Public Health is a CEPH-accredited program with more than 800 graduate and undergraduate students and over 50 faculty and academic professionals with emphases in urban health research, applied public health, health policy, and community applications.
