Job Overview

The Platforms and Security division's mission is to develop and maintain the Cloud Platform infrastructure (KMAP), the Open Technology Platform (OTP), and embedded operating systems and security for both platforms along with establishing and maintaining best practices for all applications. This function will coordinate closely with corporate IT to ensure compliance with all applicable requirements.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Define and execute the technical strategy around the data, IoT and automation platform ecosystem for Global Mining Business Division (OTP & KMAP), including support for analytics & CI initiatives, MTS optimization program, MTS application development, Komatsu OE edge and cloud application development. Build an integrated data ecosystem for Komatsu Mining Business Division.
  • Create an organizational structure capable of delivering edge and cloud data and automation platforms to support broader MTS and Komatsu business objectives. Foster a culture of Agile development, technical innovation, and accountability.
  • Define and implement effective development processes for MTS Engineering delivery teams that align development priorities with business objectives, eliminate waste, maximize the creative output of the teams, and fosters engagement of team members. Drive development velocity.
  • Collaborate with Komatsu IT and Komatsu OEMs to establish a foundation of cybersecurity in products and platforms. Foster a culture of accountability and best practices for cybersecurity in development and operational teams. Continue to develop cybersecurity awareness and capability through targeted training and development programs.
  • Create aligned strategic plans and visions with other Komatsu divisions and departments to ensure alignment and on-time delivery of solutions, including Quality Management, Product Strategy, Global Support, Architecture, IT, Hardware Engineering and Finance, Komatsu OEM product teams.
  • Define and execute best practices and policies related to Cybersecurity for all platforms and applications. Lead MTS to achieve and maintain ISO27001 and SOC2 compliance. Be the main contact point for all internal Komatsu organizations related to cybersecurity.
Qualifications/Requirements

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, statistics, CIS, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of technology development experience, mining experience preferred.
  • 8+ years of engineering technical leadership experience.
  • Good understanding of Lean and Agile methodologies along with DevSecOps processes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential with an ability to communicate and negotiate with customers, and to accept and adopt a competent responsible attitude.
  • Background in the development of software technologies, analytics, and distributed system development, including platform development.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience in mining applications and field experience.
