Overview

Job Summary:

The Clinical Pharmacy Manager plans, directs, organizes, and controls systems and resources of a specified pharmaceutical service area. The pharmacy manager ensures services meet clinical, financial and customer satisfaction goals.


Essential functions:

Manages specific area of pharmaceutical service delivery including but not limited to AHC, Surgery, Sterile Products, Central and Satellite(s).

Assesses needs and develops necessary systems and procedures to improve service, improve pharmaceutical care delivery, and enhance the financial performance (bottom line) for responsible area.

Coordinates drug usage evaluation, adverse drug experience reporting, and department process improvement activities for responsible area. Develops innovative solutions to accomplish department and enterprise vision and goals.

Interviews, Hires and evaluates pharmacists and technicians.

Assign employees to work areas maximizing efficiency and productivity. Coordinates resources to accomplish mission of department and enterprise.

Develops policies and procedures and performance indicators for areas of responsibility.

Represents area in department strategic and operational planning. Acts as liaison for responsible area to other areas of pharmacy as will as to customers.


Education, Experience and Training:

Pharm.D., M.S., or B.S. Degree with equivalent clinical practice experience required.

Two years relevant pharmacy experience required.

Valid Georgia Pharmacist License.

Completion of ASHP accredited administrative residency or 4 years of practice experience in specialty required.
