Komatsu is currently recruiting for a Welding Engineer for our Longview, Texas facility. Komatsu offer competitive salary, excellent benefits and bonus/merit potential.
- Maintain welder certifications.
- Develop robotic welding processes.
- Support robotic welding processes.
- Write robotic welding programs.
- Design fixturing for robotic welding processes.
- Ensure all welding meets appropriate welding codes.
- Assist Design Engineer with joint design and designing for manufacturability.
- Meet with welding suppliers and vendors to ensure Letourneau Technologies' welding needs are being met.
- Keep up to date with new welding processes, technologies, and equipment that will reduce costs, improve through put, or increase quality.
- Work within the scope of lean manufacturing to ensure weld deposition is being maximized.
- Provide repair procedures for in house and field repairs as needed.
- Perform welder training as requested by Quality and or Fabrication Manager.
- Write work instructions, company procedures, and or policies related to welding and fabrication.
- Perform quality audits in all fabrication areas on a monthly basis.
- Provide technical support for all welding and fabrication.
- Maintain active membership in AWS.
- Maintain or become a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
- Work with supply chain to aid in any technical questions, qualifying suppliers, and or ensuring quality work is being performed.
- Bachelor's Degree (four years of study beyond high school) or a Master's Degree (five to six years of study beyond high school)
- Minimum one to three years' experience, prefer two years
- Knowledge in the field of welding and heavy fabrication
- Knowledge in materials and properties
- Experienced in developing, supporting and programming robotic welding operations
- Writing procedures, Reading & Interpreting drawings and Standards
- Welding and International Codes & Standards
- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services
- Mathematics - Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications.
